At the beginning of the 21st Century monsters still roam the remote, and sometimes not so remote, corners of our planet. It is our job to search for them. The Centre for Fortean Zoology [CFZ] is - we believe - the largest professional, scientific and full-time organisation in the world dedicated to cryptozoology - the study of unknown animals. Since 1992 the CFZ has carried out an unparalleled programme of research and investigation all over the world. Since 2009 we have been running the increasingly popular CFZ Blog Network, and although there has been an American branch of the CFZ for over ten years now, it is only now that it has a dedicated blog.

MYSTERY CREATURES OF GUERNSEY

Guernsey (off French coast)
In the English Channel there is a group of islands called the Channel Islands which are not part of the United Kingdom, but are dependent territories of it.  One of these is Guernsey.  Small though it may be, Guernsey has a number of paranormal creatures associated with it.

First there is the Howling Creature.  This is a creature that howls, as you may gather.  No one has ever claimed to have seen it, however.  Its howls are heard before storms in the vicinity of the reef at Rocquaise Bay.

On stormy nights a Phantom White Hare is reputed to frequent the area around Profond Camp near Saint Martin.

Off the coast are said to be found Guernsey Sirens.  These look like mermaids but have the faces of old women.
