2013: While driving through the Twelve Mile Swamp
Conservation Area on International Golf Parkway, just north of St. Augustine's Northeast
Florida Regional Airport, a motorist allegedly sights stops near large pieces
of logging equipment at 4:30 p.m. and hears strange sounds—"several heavy,
bipedal footsteps, almost stomping," accompanied by "loud thrashing
and intentionally loud moving about—from the nearby forest. He sees nothing,
but decides that "something was upset about my presence" and reports
the incident to the BFRO as a Bigfoot encounter.
