On This Day in Weird, December 11...
1958: While towing garbage near Mount Erebus, at the McMurdo
Station in Antarctica, Roger Benson sees an object resembling a fuselage
supported by girders, at a distance of 500 yards. Peering through binoculars,
Benson sees a gray humanoid form with long arms dangling to the ice, walking in
circles around the object. The creature's face appears to be "two-thirds
of its entire body." Unexplained interference garbles his radio alert to
the base.
