MYSTERY DOOR IN THE GIANT'S CAUSEWAY

When they opened it, they found an anomalous interior and saw figures moving slowly towards the entrance.  They have yet to reach the mystery door. 

The Giant's Causeway is a natural rock formation in Northern Ireland.   Folklore says it was built by Finn mac Cool, a giant, but in the earlier legends Finn is not a giant.

TALKING ROOSTER

Our good friend the natural historian Pliny makes reference to a Talking Rooster.  It belonged to a man named Galerius and seems to have been kept in the farmyard.  Pliny adds that this was the only such creature of which he could learn.  (He lived before the time of Foghorn Leghorn.)

This bird was said to be the king of the birds.  Only a single pair were said to exist.  When chicks emerge from alerion eggs, the parents drown themselves.  Although Pliny mentions this supposed creature, it is mainly used for purposes of heraldry.
