Jinn were spirits in Arabia, worshipped as gods in pre-Islamic times. They were incorporated into Islamic belief, where it was stated they were beings of a nature between humans and angels. There is no proof that, in pre-Islamic Arabia, they were not actual spirits whom the Arabs believed were gods and, if this is the case, they might still exist today.
