Elijah Cope (died 1917) at the beginning of the 29th Century, looked into some reports of interaction with Fairies in England. He was told by an elderly lady that certain noises in her house were caused by a Fairy called Old Nancy.
A Mrs Frith told Cope that her mother had watched Fairies dance in a meadow. They had worn clothes of different colors.
A Mr Billing had told Cope he saw Fairies dancing in a ring. He had also seen them around farm buildings.
I have been unable to access Cope's little book so far, but the above information is found in D. Pickford Staffordshire, its Magic and Mystery (1994). Pickford had access to Cope's work.
