At the beginning of the 21st Century monsters still roam the remote, and sometimes not so remote, corners of our planet. It is our job to search for them. The Centre for Fortean Zoology [CFZ] is - we believe - the largest professional, scientific and full-time organisation in the world dedicated to cryptozoology - the study of unknown animals. Since 1992 the CFZ has carried out an unparalleled programme of research and investigation all over the world. Since 2009 we have been running the increasingly popular CFZ Blog Network, and although there has been an American branch of the CFZ for over ten years now, it is only now that it has a dedicated blog.

Santa Claus is the name given to a number of places.  A town in Georgia so called has 165 inhabitants and streets with Christmas related names.

Santa Claus, Indiana, is in Spencer County.  Its population is about 2,500.

Santa Claus, Arizona, is an abandoned town.

In Louisiana, Papa Noël is the gift-giver.  He arrives in a boat drawn by eight alligators.

In Australia, Santa's sleigh is drawn by six white kangaroos.

Some of you may be interested to learn where the idea that Santa was assisted by Elves first arose.  It seems to have first gained publicity when they were seen on the front cover of a Philadelphia women's magazine called Godey's Lady Book in 1873.
