At the beginning of the 21st Century monsters still roam the remote, and sometimes not so remote, corners of our planet. It is our job to search for them. The Centre for Fortean Zoology [CFZ] is - we believe - the largest professional, scientific and full-time organisation in the world dedicated to cryptozoology - the study of unknown animals. Since 1992 the CFZ has carried out an unparalleled programme of research and investigation all over the world. Since 2009 we have been running the increasingly popular CFZ Blog Network, and although there has been an American branch of the CFZ for over ten years now, it is only now that it has a dedicated blog.

DANUBE CRYPTIDS

The Danube is Europe's second longest river, stretching for 1780 miles, rising in Germany and entering the Black Sea.  It travels through or next to many European countries.

The Danube is said to harbor a number of cryptids.  Reports of a monster have come in from Novi Sad in Serbia.  A teacher of Russian named M. Pejin claimed to have seen a smooth-skinned, fast swimming monster in 1980.  He saw at least 2 meters of the body.  He claimed it did not look like a large fish, such as a wels catfish.  There were other reports in 1997.

Gigantic serpents have also been reported from this river.
