At the beginning of the 21st Century monsters still roam the remote, and sometimes not so remote, corners of our planet. It is our job to search for them. The Centre for Fortean Zoology [CFZ] is - we believe - the largest professional, scientific and full-time organisation in the world dedicated to cryptozoology - the study of unknown animals. Since 1992 the CFZ has carried out an unparalleled programme of research and investigation all over the world. Since 2009 we have been running the increasingly popular CFZ Blog Network, and although there has been an American branch of the CFZ for over ten years now, it is only now that it has a dedicated blog.

NEW JERSEY DRAGON

You've heard of the New Jersey Devil, but have you heard of the New Jersey Dragon?  Unfortunately, I have unearthed only a little information about this beast, but, as it is so little known, it might repay further investigation.

The Native Americans believed in this animal and located it in what is now Bucks County.  In 1677 Swedish explorers found footprints, which they reckoned were like those of a dragon, in the area.  Further information have I none (as they might have put it in an old poem).  However, New Jersey cryptozoologists might be interested in accruing more information about this beast.

There is a soccer club called the New Jersey Dragons.
