This animal is not a cryptid.. It was the heraldic emblem of the O'Kelly clan. The Battle of Clontarf, referred to in the article, is historical, not legendary. It took place in 1014. In O'Kelly tradition, the Enfield issued from the sea to protect the body of an O'Kelly warrior.
