Of Dragons and Mermaids
A correspondent suggests I should inquire no more into creatures of mythology, but confine myself to animals that might have a flesh and blood nature.
The truth of the matter is that I regard this as a website which looks at folklore animals (zoomythology) as much as cryptozoology and regard both disciplines as falling under the umbrella of Fortean zoology. I will thus include pieces on creatures that do not exist outside myth as I believe they are of interest to my reader
With regards to dragons and mermaids specifically, I would mention that a reptilian origin for the dragon myth is not impossible and even the mermaid may prove to be some pinniped as yet unkennrd by science.
