1965: The Decatur News reports that four teenagers
claim a sighting of Bigfoot in the Montezuma Hills near Decatur, Illinois. The
two couples were parked after dark when the black-haired creature allegedly
approached their car, causing them to flee in panic. That same year,
up-and-coming cryptozoologist Loren Coleman photographs an alleged footprint of
a "North American Ape" outside Decatur.
