1897: The Cleveland Plain Dealer newspaper reports that
farmers Adam Gardner and Ed Swinehart recently saw a hairy bipedal creature run
into the woods near "Sailor, Indiana." No sighting confirmation is
presently available from Indiana papers, and no town called "Sailor" in
any available gazetteer. Without substantiating data, this may be regarded as a
"silly season" journalistic hoax.
