2012: After a brief delay of 51 years, a witness from
Queens, New York, reports a "giant bird" sighting from 1961,
occurring around lunchtime as he walked home from kindergarten classes. He
describes the creature as a "large
white bird, huge wingspan, not unusually marked," and larger than any bird
he'd seen before or since. A passing mail carrier also saw the creature, but
apparently failed to report it.
