On This Day in Weird, December 20...
1946: Six-year-old Joseph Nadha woke in his bedroom, at home
in Budapest, Hungary, to the light of a "huge red sphere" hovering
outside his window. Ten days later, he woke again around the same time, to find
a pair of bald-headed humanoids standing beside his bedroom's wood stove. The
following morning, December 31, his parents refused to let Joseph play outside,
insisting that "something awful" would happen to him if he left the
house.
