2012: British geneticists at Oxford University invite anyone
holding purported samples of Yeti hair to submit them for DNA analysis to
identify their original sources. Seventeen months later, in October 2013, they
report that two samples indicate the possible survival of a previously unknown
"hybrid polar bear," descended from a prehistoric species, roaming
the Himalayas.
