WHY UFOs?

Some of you may be asking why we include UFO sightings in a blog devoted primarily to cryptozoology.  The answer is simple.  If UFOs are in fact extraterrestrial or ultraterrestrial craft, the beings who fly them should come under the general heading of cryptids - unless, of course, they are robotic.  But, that apart, reports of certain cryptids coincide with UFO sightings and consequently the two phenomena are not unconnected.

I know some cryptozoologists thinks it demeans the status of cryptozoology as they regard cryptozoology as 'more scientific' than ufology or the paranormal, in that it deals with hypothetical flesh-and-blood animals.  However, others regard such topics as not as irrelevant to science as the status which most of mainstream science accords them.  They would say, in short, that aliens and the paranormal are not themselves beyond the bounds of science, but beyond the bounds of known science and should there not be relegated, as they often are, to the 'crackpot fringe'.

Moreover, this website does not confine itself merely to cryptozoology per se, but seeks to include other topics such as natural history, conservation and, indeed, anything else that the Learned Editors might want to put into it.

Finally, a grammatical note.  Some who read this who are versed in English grammar may blench when we do things such as start a sentence with a conjunction or end it with a preposition.  Sometimes strict adherence to the rules of grammar can smack of artificiality and pedantry and this we have sought to avoid.
