THYLACINE-A CRYPTID SOON TO BE DISCOVERED?

I cannot help but feel that the thylacine may be the next cryptid to be officially discovered.  The thylacine (Thylacinus cynocephalus)
frolicked around Tasmania when white colonists arrived.  It was also known as the Tasmanian wolf and the zebra-wolf.  The last one in captivity died in 1936 and it is now regarded as extinct; but reports of sightings have come in on a number of occasions since then.  Sightings have been reported in 1968, 1982, 1986 and the 1990s.

There have also been reports from mainland Australia since the 1970s.  The Australian Rare Fauna Research Association have reported 3800 sightings on mainland Australia since 1936.  A cryptid reported from New Guinea, known as the dobsenga, may also be a thylacine.
