TARDIS POSSIBILITIES

Some time ago a program was put out on television regarding the science of the series Dr Who.  It concluded that everything in it was scientifically possible except his headquarters, the Tardis.  Because this is bigger inside than outside, it is not physically possible.

But what about this for a suggestion?  Supposing you enter the Tardis and, in entering, find yourself in a different dimension which corresponds exactly to the structure's interior as perceived by the entrant.  You are not actually in the Tardis, but the illusion is created that that is where you are.  When you exit through the door through which you entered, you return to our dimension.

Would it work that way?
