You may not have heard of this obscure humanoid, which feartues in the legends of the Indians of the North-West. It is regarded as a giant, of solitary bent. A st-plah is said to make its home at the bottom of a body of water, such as a pond. It would steal the surprised passer-by. Then he makes him inoto a servant or he eats him. Neither fate is congenial.
