MAKARA

A kind of Dragon in Indian mythology, generally regarded as water dwelling.  It is thought to have a crocodile's head and legs and a snake's body.  Belief in the creature is found far beyond India itself.  It is sometimes depicted with an antelope's head and legs and a fish's body.  It is the sign of Capricorn in the Hindu zodiac.
