PENDLETON ANIMAL

Have you ever heard of this rather obscure creature?  It was shot in Oregon in October, 2000.  It was fur-bearing and had four legs, but was not identified.  The skeleton was analyzed by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, but the results were not released.  Has anyone any knowledge or ideas about the identity of this creature?
