On This Day in Weird, February 23...
2002: A married couple living at Scotts Head, New South
Wales, wakes to an "offending stench" and a sound "like a big man stomping around on their
porch," then leaping over the rail and walking away with heavy footsteps. Subsequently,
they are disturbed by nocturnal sounds of "a weird noise like a cross
between a dog and a cat as it runs towards the bush." Without ever
sighting the visitor, they presume it to be a Yowie, Australia's version of
Sasquatch.
