1855: According to British authors Colin and Janet Bord, witness
J. W. McHenri claims that an "18-inch hairy manlike creature" has
been captured in the coastal fishing town of Waldboro, Maine. Adding more confusion
to the very strange report, the Bords cite as their source a weekly newspaper published
on Saturdays from the far side of the continent, the Washington State Pioneer
and Democrat, specifically referring to an article published on May 1,
1855.
