ON THIS DAY IN WEIRD

On This Day in Weird, December 24th...

1945: Modern America's strangest mass disappearance occurs in Fayetteville, West Virginia, when a still-unexplained fire sweeps through the Sodder family's home. The parents and four of their nine children escape unharmed, while five more children vanish forever. No remains are found in the home's ashes except for a piece of raw liver. Various alleged sightings misdirect police in their hopeless search. For the full story of this very spooky case see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sodder_children_disappearance and/or https://historichorrors.wordpress.com/2014/05/13/what-was-the-fate-of-the-five-sodder-children/
