GIRAFFES ENDANGERED

A threat to the existence of the Giraffe has been noted.  The population of this animal in the wild has declined by 40%.  Most of the decline seems to have taken place in Eastern and Central Africa.  Things are looking healthier in southern Africa, but it is now estimated that there are only about 100,000 in total.  The main reason for the decline is the encroachment of humans on the creature's habitat.

The population of Zebra has also declined by about 24%.
