COTSWOLD LION

Should anyone come on a reference in an old book to Cotswold Lions, this does not not mean that there has been a cryptid population of lions dwelling in the Cotswolds in England.  In local terminology, a Cotswold lion meant a sheep, for whisch the Cotswolds were famous.
