Ironically, Facebook yesterday carried a report that the cop who allegedly shot it back in 1972 has "confessed" it was a hoax, only a "sick iguana" or some such. Case investigators are already disputing that claim, opining that the now-aged officer simply got sick of answering questions over time and wants to be left in peace.
