On This Day in Weird, August 12...
2012: A resident of Jackson, Kentucky—north of Bagdad, in
Shelby County—contacts the BFRO regarding strange incidents occurring the same
day around 2:30 a.m. He reports a series of eerie howls ("I know what
coyotes sound like, this was no coyote"), approaching and circling the
house. After checking the tree line with a spotlight and seeing nothing, he
goes back inside, moments before a shower of small stones strike the porch
roof. The howling continues for over a half-hour, finally fading off into the
woods. A previous encounter, sounds only with no creature sighting, allegedly
occurred in November 2011, while the witness was deer hunting.
