2001: A witness living aboard a boat in Mason County,
Washington, wakes to the sound of his dog barking at 4:30 a.m. Going topside,
he looks across a small bay toward Hope Island Marine State Park, where a dock
light reveals a bipedal creature "significantly larger than a man"
walking with long strides, vanishing into the woods. The witness waits four
years before reporting the incident to the GCBRO's website.
