PHOSPORESCENT SEA SERPENT

We're going back to 1966.  In that year John Ridgway and Chay Blythe undertook the challenge of rowing a boat across the Atlantic Ocean.  On the night of July 25th, Ridgway was rowing while Blythe snoozled.  Ridgway looked to starboard and beheld a long creature, perhaps 35' or more.  It was lit with a phosphorescence that reminded Ridgway of neon lights, heading for the boat.  However, there was no collision, as it dived under the boat, to come up briefly on the far side.  I don't know if Blythe actually woke up to observe this singular phenomenon.  Perhaps he just snoozled on.
