THE MONSTROUS TOTONGE

You should always be careful where you put your hand.  This is illustrated by the story of the Totonge, a monster in the legends of the Lokanda of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

The story is that the animals where out hunting except for the Tortoise, which had been left to guard the food, as the Totonge, which was hungry by nature,might come and gobble it up.  In due course this voracious creature arrived, seeking food.  The creature was of gargantuan proportions, but the Tortoise was more than a match for it.

"Have some of this," he offered, proferring some honey.

The Totonge took it and it was so much to his liking he demanded more.

"To get more," said the Tortoise, "you must put your hand in my anus."

The Totonge complied.  (See warning in first line).

The Tortoise clamped his anus shut on the monster's hand and he could not escape.  When the other animals returned, they chopped the Totonge up.

This is presumably why no description of this creature is available.  There was only one and now it was gone.
