On This Day in Weird, February 29....
2008: Scott T. Norman, longtime cryptozoologist and reported
witness to a living pteranodon in 2007, dies in the early morning hours at
Fullerton, California, 15 days before his 44th birthday. Known for his
widespread travels, including expeditions to Africa, Norman was also a deeply
religious believer in "young Earth" creationism as an explanation for
surviving relict dinosaurs. A blood clot was suspected as the cause of death.
