FOSSIL RECORD

Certain mainstreaxistence of some cryptid, that there is no trace of it in the fossil record.  This does not seem to take into account how limited the fossil record is.  There is no trace whatsoever of at least 99% of all the species that have existed in the fossil record.  Therefore, it seems it cannot be adduced as evidence against the possible existence of any particular cryptid.
