1979: Witnesses Kay Price, Gaye Smith and Wanda Smith report
sighting a Bigfoot-type creature locally dubbed "Knobby" beside a
road near Casar, North Carolina. The creature earned its nickname from its
first reported appearances around a mountain called Carpenter Knob
