2006: Religious insanity rears its bloody head yet again in Saudi
Arabia, during the ritual ramy al-jamarāt ("Stoning of the
Devil") ceremony on the final day of the Hajj. As usual, a stampede occurs
on Mina's Jamarat Bridge, killing at least 346 pilgrims and injuring at least 289
others. Presumably, "God" was pleased by the annual carnage.
