1909: In Marlboro, Massachusetts, ex-city councilman B. W.
Johnson reports seeing "an airship" pass over the southwestern part
of the city, dipping so low that he could hear "a man talking" from
inside the craft. Later the same evening, another witness named Beauregard
claims a sighting of the same craft landing on the southern shore of Lake
Williams.
