1854: The French UFO "flap" continues with a
sighting by witness Raymond Romand at Premanon, in the Jura Department, at 8:30
p.m. He describes a "fiery ball" hovering over a meadow, with two
"squarish" beings below it on legs. A child hurls pebbles that strike
the craft with a metallic sound. Police discover a 12-foot circle of flattened
grass at the site.
