On This Day in Weird, December 4...

1839: "Ottawa Prophet" Ezekiel Stone Wiggins born in Canada. Later in life he claimed power to predict weather and earthquakes, also theorizing the existence of living plesiosaurs in Rice Lake, Ontario.


1970: Witnesses find footprints 15 inches long and 6 inches wide in frozen snow around Vader, Washington. Beneath the snow, the tracks are impressed 1.5 inches into underlying gravel. Three days later, a dome-shaped UFO passes over the area.
