Orbs are often taken in photographs, but usually a mechanical explanation can be found for them. In the past, ghost hunters used to think they were disembodied spirits, yet this view is questionable, to say the least.
However, what about an orb that is not part of a photograph, but is seen in real life coming through the air towards you? That is a different kettle of fish. In the East Fairfield-Bakersfield area of Vermont, such an orb has put in an appearance. Not alone has it appeared, it responds to human speech. On one occasion it even accepted an invitation to enter a cabin.
I once attended a lecture by Matthew Williams, in which he claimed to have encountered similar orbs in fields, mostly harmless, but one decidedly hostile.
That picture, by the way, may look like an orb, but the discerning scrutinizer will note it is only a lamp post.
