From time to time a cryptid turns up that cannot be identified. Indeed, it need not be a cryptid at all: it could simply be an animal with which the witness is unfamiliar. Such a one is the Pig-Ear-Eater of Bay Springs (Mississippi).
This creature was black and gray with a shaggy tail. It was nearly as tall as a human's waist, a variable kind of estimate. It would attack pigs, but eat only their ears. It seems to have carried out its depredations in 1977. What it was remains a mystery.
