NINKI-NANKA

It is some years now since the J.T.Downes Memorial Expedition, organized by the CFZ, set out for Gambia to investigate this monster.  It is said to look like a dragon.  One description says it has a face like a horse, a long neck and tail and the body of a reptile.  A swamp dweller, some people say it is merely a kind of snake.  Some accounts give it one horn, some three.  The Expedition concluded that the beast, if it once existed, was now probably extinct in the lower River Gambia, but might be found further south - in Guinea, for example.  It has also been said to be found in the Casamance River, Senegal.

The Expedition took statements from possible eyewitnesses.  The animal evokes terror among the locals.  It is said that the only way to overcome the beast is to show it its reflection in a mirror.  Bring one with you if you go hunting the Ninki-Nanka.
