MONSTER RATS

Huge rats seem to be making it into the news these days.  In Chicago, a gigantic rat was videoed crossing four lanes of traffic recently.  In Europe, a gigantic rat called "Ratzilla" was killed in Stockholm (Sweden).  Another specimen, two feet long, was trapped in Dublin (Ireland).  Rats between three and four feet long have been reported from Halle (Germany).  In Birmingham (England) a population of huge rats seems to be running amok.  Some are said to be the size of small cats.  With summer coming in in the Northern Hemisphere, more rats will be seen.  Dr Robin Allaby (Warrington University) said that as rats have more access to waste food, this is probably the cause of their growth in size.
