ON THIS DAY IN WEIRD

On This Day in Weird, March 12...

1870: The Silver City (Idaho) Avalanche reports that local hunters have killed a carnivore of unknown species outside town. Nicknamed "the man-eater," it weighs an estimated 100 pounds, has short legs and ears, large feet, and a bushy ten-inch-long tail. For many similar cases, consult Chad Arment's priceless compendium, Varmints.
