DARTMOUTH KANGAROO

When thinking about Phantom Kangaroos, those strange beasts reported from the United States that have no business to be there, I came upon a reference to the Dartmouth Kangaroo, but I feel, bearing in mind its description, that it was no true kangaroo.  In fact, I challenge its kangarulity.  It was reported in 1997 near Dartmouth (MA).  Its eyes were bigger than those of a normal kangaroo and it had a fluffy tail.  One wonders if the theory that Phantom Kangaroos are mistaken reports of Devil Monkeys holds good here.

Could we have in this specimen an unknown species that normally lives underground?  I infer that from the big eyes.  However, in this I am reasoning from a result back to a cause, a hazardous process.

Another creature which bore some resemblance to a kangaroo was seen by two witnesses at Nissequogue, Long island (NY).  It was apparently colored white.
