1976: Japanese whalers recover a whole giant squid from a
sperm whale's stomach at 36°44′N 141°33′E in the Northwest Pacific. Its mantle
measures 23⅓ inches. No other measurements are recorded.
1977: Witnesses at Tasmania's Seven Mile Beach sight a
dome-shaped UFO with a slender, big-headed passenger inside it.
1980: Pauline Markham watches a Sasquatch walk down a ridge
near South Weber, Utah.
2013: Fishermen on South Bay, near Kaikoura, New Zealand,
report a dead giant squid floating on the surface. They estimate its length at
21 to 26 feet, its weight between 300 and 330 pounds.
